Heidi was a pedigree German Shepherd Dog (Alsation).
Her kennel name was Timbervale November News - This was because Heidi and the other nine puppies in her litter appeared on BBC Midlands Today in November 1972 because of her unusual blue colouring. Five of the puppies were blue/gold and five were black and gold. Tom Coyne looked suitably nervous in the Studio when surrounded by dogs.
