Update July 2009: Congratulations to Jamie Walker of Northampton West End on beating Richard Lemon, Northampton Express 21-8 in the County Singles Final played at Wellingborough BC on 17.7.09. Jamie is the second youngest player at 17 years and 6 months to have won the County Singles Title. (Jamie was also runner up (losing 20-21) in the County under 25s final this year.)
I am no longer a member of West End BC having moved to Devon in 2008 where I have joined Marldon Bowls Club
Consequently this site will no longer be updated by me. Contact the club if you wish to join.

Members in the clubhouse |
The club was founded in
1897 near Franklins Gardens, Northampton, (Now the home
of Northampton
Saints Rugby
Club) and moved in 1963 to its current site in Mendip
Road. The move included the
clubhouse and the turf off the green.
For the 2008 season, the
club once again has a full summer of Thursday and
Saturday afternoon friendly matches against other local
clubs, two teams in the Monday night triples league, also a program of Ladies matches.
More members are always
welcome, both male and female, especially players who
will play in the Thursday and Saturday men's sides or the
ladies team. Enthusiasm is as important as ability.
(Otherwise I would never have got in the side.)
In addition to the friendly games, the club enters teams
in a range of knockout competitions and evening leagues
and members are encouraged to enter County and Club
Competitions. Any bowler who reaches the finals of County
Competitions will progress to the National Finals at
Worthing (Men) or Leamington Spa. (Ladies)

Our Bar is stocked with a
selection of beers and spirits including 'Whitbread' &
'Worthington Creamflow' Bitter and Carling Lager, is open before
and after matches and from 7:30pm most evenings in Summer.
